COVID-19 NEWS: Keeping Kayaking Safe- Notes On Our Phase II Reopening Safety Measures
Mayor Cooper announced this week that Phase 2 of Nashville's reopening plan will go into effect next week. While we at RQV are grateful to be part of this second phase, we're also staying vigilant and cautious about safety measures for our crew and customers.
RQV is currently only allowed to be open at 50% capacity, so your business is especially important to us right now. Please consider purchasing a Season Pass for 2020 or buying some of our awesome merch! Every little bit helps us to stay afloat in these uncertain times.
Here are the measures we're taking to keep everyone safe while kayaking with us:
Employee Health
All staff will be screened daily for close contact with confirmed cases of COVID-19
All staff will be tested for a temperature with a thermometer at the beginning of the work day and anyone with a fever will not be permitted to work and asked to seek medical care and COVID-19 testing before returning to work
Workplace Cleaning & Disinfection Measures
All kayaks, paddles, and PFDs will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized per CDC guidelines after every use
Staff will wear masks and gloves during work hours
Staff members will practice social distancing with each other and with customers
All bookings must be completed online or on the phone
Customers will be required to fill out and sign our updated safety waivers on their mobile devices prior to kayaking
Customers should be responsible for bringing their own masks, gloves, water, food, sunscreen, and hand sanitizer. RQV has masks for sale on our website, both in the shop and as an add-on at checkout
Customers are highly encouraged to wear masks and gloves
We know you have a LOT of pent-up energy from flattening the curve and staying quarantined during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are here to help you stay safe and sane by connecting with nature! Sunlight and the great outdoors are some of the best cures for whatever ails ya.
Paddling is considered a LOW RISK activity but no activity is no risk. By deciding to paddle with us, we will ask that you help us in following these guidelines to keep you and our staff healthy this season.
